A great way to start your working day
So how do you start you day?
Well if you work for yourself, the largest hurdle can be getting going, then organising yourself and then making sure you are working on the 'right' things. What are the 'right' things I hear you ask - that's a whole different subject which I will come on to on another post! Then of course there is the subject of staying motivated!
For now let me share some of my tips for a powerful way to start your day:
- Set aside 20 mins to do some short actions (usually accompanied by a large cup of tea)!
- First set an 'Intention' for your day - how are you going to show up today? Perhaps you will be: Focused, Active, Playful, Positive, Learning, Absorbing, Calm, Humorous etc.
- Next collect your tasks for the day, put them in priority order, knowing that if you get the top 3 done that is great! Possibly break these down into timed tasks as well, if you have a lot.
- Set yourself a small and achievable goal for the day (see my Goal Setting FREE Download on my website).
- Sit quietly and close your eyes and visualise yourself easily achieving what you have set yourself.
- Put an enormous smile on your face and get stuck into your day knowing how great it is going to be!
Some extra ideas before doing this of course is to take some exercise, go for a walk or run, do some yoga or meditation. This helps your energy levels enormously!
So there we have it, if you haven't ever thought of starting your day like this, and are not happy with your current results then why not give it a try? Oh and the time you take to do this is more than double made up for during the day!
